Who is Tomokazu Komiya
Born in 1973, he has illustrated Pokémon cards and books. His deliberately distorted, freely coloured style comes from Primitivism, the art movement inspired by prehistoric, tribal and children's art. For the 2023 Van Gogh collaboration he reinterpreted Sunflora and Smeargle.
